Margaret Foley has a degree in Russian Area Studies from the University of Missouri—Columbia and an advanced degree in Russian and East European History from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor. She has studied and lived abroad, worked as a journalist and editor, presented papers at academic conferences, won research awards from Fulbright-Hays and the International Research and Exchange Board, taught college history, and published fiction and non-fiction in a variety of publications.
In addition to editorial work, she has spent the past few years working in progressive politics, organizing events and rallies and leading communications for candidates, campaigns, and social justice nonprofits.
Born and raised in New Mexico, she currently lives in Portland, OR.
